Wow...we made it along with our luggage! No sleep last night, wonderful Okanagan summer weather. Met most of the Canadian team at the airport and just got back from breakfast. Going for a little shake-out jog and then hit the pool.
I am 69 years old and began running at the age of 50. My passion is trail running and I have been the local trail club leader for 15 years. I was co-race director of the Scorched Sole Ultra in Kelowna which was held for eight years. I have hosted trail and ultra clinics for 8 years. I have completed 40 marathons and ultra marathons including 2 one hundred mile endurance ultras and 2 one hundred kilometer road ultras.
In 2007 I broke the Super Veteran(60+) record at the Knee Knacker North Shore Trail Run 50 km.
I have raced in the 36 hour Raid the North Adventure Race in Kelowna B.C.
Competed in the inaugural Fat Dog 100k in Manning Park July 23/10 and placed first overall.
Placed 6th O/A and 4th male in the 2011 TCC Rainforest Run 233k 6 day stage race in Costa Rica.
"Male Athlete of the Year" for 2010 at the annual Kelowna Civic Awards held Apr.27th at the Community Theatre.
I recently took up swimming and cycling and have completed across the lake swim and many 100 km, Gran Fondo's and multi day cycling rides.
